"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me."— Psalm 28:7

Devotional Thought: We all know the feeling: eyelids heavy, brain fog thick, and all you want is that glorious first sip of coffee. And yet, right there on your mug or in your morning planner, you see the phrase: "Faith is strong, coffee is stronger." You laugh, because… well, it’s kind of true—at least it feels that way before 9 AM. But this playful quote actually invites a deeper reflection: What do you depend on to get through the day? What’s your real source of strength? Let’s Break It Down: Coffee may boost your body, but only God can steady your soul. You might wake up by reaching for your phone, but how often do you first reach for the Word? You plan your day with to-do lists,
but do you ask God what He wants you to do? This phrase is ironic—but that’s the point. It humorously exposes how easy it is to lean more on temporary comforts than eternal truth. Prayer: Lord, thank You for simple joys like coffee, but help me remember that You alone are my true strength. Wake me up with Your presence, not just caffeine. Fill me with Your peace before my day begins. Amen.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. — Proverbs 3:5

Devotional Thought: This phrase reflects a struggle many believers face: we say we trust God with our words, but our actions reveal a backup strategy… just in case He doesn’t answer how or when we expect. It’s not that God is against wisdom, planning, or preparation—Scripture encourages all of those. But there’s a difference between being responsibly prepared and being spiritually divided. The Heart of the Issue: Keping a Plan B after praying hard often reveals a fear of disappointment or a desire for control. Deep down, it says: “God, I trust You… but let me hold on to this in case You don’t show up.” This mindset can: Water down your faith, Delay your obedience, Breed anxiety instead of peace. Real trust is when Plan A is obedience, even if you don’t see the outcome yet. Letting go of your "just in case" doesn’t mean acting recklessly—it means acting with radical trust. Saying yes even if the money isn’t all there yet, stepping forward before you see the full staircase, not texting that fallback relationship, not compromising your calling for comfort. Faith Declaration: “God, I don’t need a Plan B to be faithful. I choose to trust You with my yes and leave the results in Your hands.”
